  8. To install Maple on your hard drive, do the following:
  9.  
  10. 1) Drag the Maple drawer from this diskette (Maple_Install_1) onto
  11.    the appropriate hard drive volume.
  12.  
  13. 2) Start a Shell and from the command line use the ASSIGN command
  14.    to assign MAPLE: to the Maple drawer.  For example, if you dragged
  15.    the Maple drawer onto your Work: partition, you would type
  16.  
  17.          assign maple: work:maple
  18.  
  19. 3) Now from the CLI type
  20.  
  21.          execute maple_install_1:install
  22.  
  23.    this will copy the various files into the appropriate directories.
  24.    You will be prompted to switch diskettes.
  25.  
  26. 4) Edit your s:user-startup file to permanently add the MAPLE: assign
  27.    to your configuration and to add MAPLE:bin to your path.
  28.  
  29. 5) To start Maple, just go into the maple: directory and either
  30.    double-click on the MapleV icon or simply type MapleV at the command
  31.    line.  If you use the icon, the file maple:bin/start_maple will
  32.    be executed to start Maple.
